Since becoming the nation's 125th chapter in 1986, Scott County has spent $370,548 and has been actively involved with the purchase of twelve - (12) Land Acquisitions, equaling nine - (9) Wildlife Management Areas and 586.07 acres of public hunting land and have completed 629 projects impacting 5,524 acres right here in Scott County. We have also spent more than $101,527 to promote youth and conservation education.
Thank you to all of the members of SCPF who have made this possible and to all the organizations who have helped us these past 24-years, including: Belle Plaine Sportsman's Club; Fish Lake Sportsman's Club, New Market Sportsman's Club, New Prague Sportsman's Club, Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited & the Minnesota Water fowlers. Along with our affiliation with the Minnesota Conservation Federation and the Scott County Farm Service Agency - Soil & Water Conservation Service.
Thanks to the support of members like you, Pheasants Forever is making a difference for pheasants and other wildlife across the Nation, Minnesota, Scott County and our very own backyards.

2004 PF National "Minnesota State Award" Banquet of the Year
Special Chapter Honors: 2001 was the 50th Anniversary of the Minnesota Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Program. In conjunction with the 50 year celebration, 18 organizations where chosen as “Golden Orginazations” for their “outstanding contribution and dedication to the WMA Program”. We are pleased to announce that Scott County PF was one of the select group of 18 orgainzations that received this honor.
1994 was a “Banner Year” for SCPF in terms of development. We completed the acquisition of 176 acres of habitat for our Critical Winter Habitat program in four modules at the cost of $250,000.00. This was a cooperative venture by the chapter and contributions by the Prior Lake, Belle Plaine and New Prague Sportsmen’s Clubs, the Environmental Trust Fund as well as the MN Waterfowl Association and the Sioux Trails Archery Club. This experimental module program, funded through the Legislative Council on Minnesota Resources , was the first of its kind anywhere in the US. The result is a series of “Habitat Islands” providing critical winter habitat for wildlife.

Dear Members,
Thanks to the support of members like you, Pheasants Forever is making a difference for pheasants and other wildlife across the Nation, Minnesota, Scott County and our very own backyards.
We have a great start on forever, we have dedicated local volunteers...but there is still much more to do. In addition to local projects, we need all Minnesotans to speak with their legislators about the importance of the Conservation Reserve Program [CRP] to Minnesota’s water quality, soil resources, and wildlife populations. We need your help to continue our habitat and youth education efforts in the face of rising land prices, urban sprawl, and a society increasingly detached from nature.
Your membership will keep our conservation programs strong and growing. By renewing your membership and being active in our local chapter, your involvement assures that we will continue to achieve our GOALS of improving wildlife habitat by creating habitat, restoring wetlands, acquiring wildlife lands for public access, and preserving the legacy of our hunting and conservation heritage right here in Scott County.
The dollars you spend at our Pheasants Forever banquet make that possible. 100% of all funds raised (over membership costs) stay right here in our local chapter, so you, your children and grandchildren will benefit from your generosity when visiting our local wildlife management areas today and years to come. Together we can ensure a wildlife legacy for generations to come.
I encourage each of you to come to our meetings. As a member of SCPF, we welcome you to exercise your concerns.
Thank you for your support.
Jim Legg
